SUXING ZHANG B. 1988
Suxing Zhang (张素行) explores the intersection of history, memory, and cultural identity through painting. By reinterpreting historical photographs from Australia and China, Zhang interweaves personal and collective narratives, creating layered works that challenge static notions of time and place. Blending traditional techniques with contemporary interventions, his practice invites cross-cultural dialogue, revealing how art can reshape inherited stories into living connections. Zhang’s work ultimately seeks to illuminate the threads that bind disparate communities and individuals, offering space for reflection on identity, belonging, and the enduring resonance of the past.
